Once in a while, the skies part, a shaft of light descends from the heavens, distantly you hear trumpets, and there’s a handmade bowl covered with creepy aliens at the Salvation Army. That’s only happened a few times, but finally, this time, I had a camera.
Someone put a lot of work into this. A lot of love, a lot of attention to detail, and a lot of tiny little big-headed aliens with terrible hollow eyes. What do you put in a bowl like this? Not fruit, certainly. Maybe some sort of greenish custard?
They look so happy. Probably because they just decapitated and consumed the head of one of their colleagues.
Yay! We ate Bob’s head!
I’m wondering exactly how representational this is. Are they actually pressing themselves out of this weird brown surface like a facehugger crawling out of John Hurt? They’re very happy about it. I hope after the horrible wet sucking sound and distended heads and all they break out into song. I’m thinking “Bye Bye Blackbird.”
This is just a me thing, but I use Flickr to store my images, and when you pull up an image in Flickr there’s a half-second of the “load” icon spinning around, it looks like a tiny red-and-blue police siren. When I loaded the picture below it was RIGHT IN HIS MOUTH. I had to leave for a few minutes. Erk. Too weird for 9:30.

ULLA
omg! I almost choked on my tea.
Wonderful commentary for this bowl. lol
I would have bought it and put it on the back patio table. It would be a great conversation piece. :)
