And and the “my third martini” fairy is the most awesomest of them all. Plus, she really puts the “mixed” in “mixed media.”
I don’t know the sort of artist that takes a small handful of glass shards and says, “oh, wings.” But I’m glad they did. Because this is amazing on so many levels. Firstly, it’s just great…really great…to know that when you find the gold at the end of the rainbow, it’s actually a fairy in a martini glass. An empty martini glass, but really, it’d only be drinkable if your ideal recipe involves a mixture of gin, vermouth, and pixie ass. I believe that totally fails the Bond, 007 standard.
Steel Rose: Is that the artist, or the fairy? Either way, don’t bother googling for her. It’s like naming your business “Cool Stuff” and then nobody ever finds you in a Google search again. Or my poor photographer friend, Valorie Cat. Her little studio “Cat Photos” just didn’t make it into the 21st century :(
Where was I going? Uh…things glued to things! Amazingly, this picture is only missing ONE glass bead. I was shocked. Look, you can see dozens of little photographers in them.
It takes a certain amount of devil-may-care insouciance to wear a leotard and striped leggings–particularly those striped leggings–anywhere outside of beginner’s dance lessons. And yet, she pulls it off. In fact, having seen this, I can’t imagine any other outfit working in a martini glass. It probably works even better once you’ve drunk the martini, and now have a gin content of well over 40%. At that point, you’re going to be totally “to hell with it, in these leggings I’m, like, GOD. Where the hell did I put my olive?”
Which raises the question of, “This is a magical fairy dale, with club moss, butterflies, a rainbow, and magical sparkles. Why is there a martini?”
The answer of course being, “for the fairy.”
“Oh.”
Note the wings. I have cut myself on the wings at least once. Be careful, wings like that. Don’t let her eyes, her body, her attractive sneer, pull you in. In fact, I think I cut myself on her sneer. So…be careful.

Tell the truth: Did you buy this one?
Um…yes. I did :( I don’t usually post about pictures I buy, I’ve got a “secret gallery,” but this was just too awesome.
Wanna hear something sad? I worked at a place called Cool Stuff for 5 years, all through college. It started out as a head shop, of course. This little lady would have looked completely at home next to the Javanese Warrior statues, bulk incense, over priced hippy dresses, and dream catchers!
